Courses

UGA en Buenos Aires is an academically demanding intensive language immersion program. Classes are taught by both UGA and local Argentine university faculty with teaching experience in Buenos Aires and several universities in the United States.

Summer 2025:

Students select TWO of the following advanced courses (six total credits) 

SPAN 3020 - Writing Critically in Spanish (pre-requisite: SPAN 3010)

SPAN 4082 - Latin American Film (pre-requisite: SPAN 3030)

SPAN 4080 - Discovering Cultural Formations/Culture of Buenos AIres (pre-requisite: SPAN 3030)

*SPAN 4190-Internship in Spanish / 4090S Practicum in Service Learning 

*Internship and service learning placements, which are NOT guaranteed, are subject to availability. Internships require that students first receive recommendations following placement interviews with UGABA staff prior to departure. Subsequently, students must send a current résumé in Spanish to potential providers and successfully complete an on-site interview. Students not accepted for placements will be required to enroll in traditional courses as listed above. 

 

Fall 2025:

Students select FOUR of the following advanced courses (twelve total credits) 

SPAN 3020 - Writing Critically in Spanish (pre-requisite: SPAN 3010)

SPAN 3030 - Texts in Global Contexts (pre-requisite: SPAN 3020)

SPAN 3050 -Introduction to Spanish Linguistics (pre-requisite: SPAN 3020)

SPAN 4082 - Latin American Film (pre-requisite: SPAN 3030)

SPAN 4080 - Discovering Cultural Formations/Culture of Buenos AIres (pre-requisite: SPAN 3030)

SPAN 4070 - Latin American Voices of Change (pre-requisite: SPAN 3030)
