Instructor of Spanish PhD Romance Languages, specializing in Spanish Literature Alumni Status Degree Completion Date: Aug 2023 I graduated from UGA with my Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies with a concentration in contemporary Spanish novel and culture. My dissertation focused on the novelistic series by Benjamín Prado titled "Los casos de Juan Urbano." I analyzed the first five novels in his series using the theoretical framework of Linda Hutcheon's work on historiographic metafiction. Before coming to UGA, I earned my Master of Arts in Spanish (M.A.) and Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish (M.A.T.) from Georgia Southern University. While working for the Department of Romance Languages at UGA, I have taught the full cycle of elementary and intermediate Spanish (1001-2002) as well as Texts in Global Contexts (Spanish 3030). For 3030, my goals are to have students examine canonical works of Spanish and Latin American literature while also improving their proficiency in Spanish through a variety of presentations and essays. In the summer of 2022, I worked as an auxiliar for UGA en España's Valencia program. During this time, I assisted with the study abroad experience comprising of excursions, coursework, and daily activities for a group of students studying in Spain for 7 weeks in Spain. I am currently teaching SPAN 2001 and SPAN 3030 in the Spring 2026 semester.
