Lecturer of Spanish
Preceptor, SPAN 1110
Kerry Steinberg is a Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of Romance Languages, where she also serves as the Preceptor for SPAN 1110. She teaches courses including accelerated elementary Spanish (SPAN 1110/1110E), SPAN 2001 (Intermediate Spanish I), and SPAN 4090S (Practicum in Service Learning). In her role as instructor of the service-learning practicum course SPAN 4090S, Steinberg has been recognized with the 2025 Service-Learning Teaching Excellence Award, for her work immersing students in local Latinx communities and facilitating service-learning study abroad experiences. Beyond her teaching responsibilities at UGA, Steinberg directed the UGA en Buenos Aires (UGABA) program for Summer 2025, continuing her engagement with Spanish-language immersion abroad. She has lived and worked in Argentina, Paraguay, Peru, Costa Rica, and Spain, bringing international experience to her pedagogical practice.
