UGA en Buenos Aires Fall (12 weeks) and Summer (6 weeks) study abroad programs offer students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Argentina while gaining valuable academic and professional experiences. For many students, scholarships make this transformative journey possible.

Just ask Raegan Johnson, who spent the summer of 2023 exploring Argentina and interning at a public hospital. "This experience was life-changing. The scholarship I received eased so many financial stresses and allowed me to fully immerse myself in Argentinian culture. It’s my favorite memory from my four years at UGA," she shares.

Gabriela Sanchez also credits her experience in Buenos Aires to a scholarship from UGA. “I shadowed speech therapy sessions conducted in Spanish, which is something I had never had the chance to do before. I stayed with a host family who taught me so much about the culture. None of this would have been possible without the scholarship. It made me even more passionate about my future profession in speech-language pathology and improved my career-related Spanish vocabulary.”

Og Ugboh describes the experience as a dream come true. “I encountered the diversity of Argentina through its people, cuisine, dance, and breathtaking landscapes, from rainforests to salt flats, glaciers, and mountain ruins. I loved my medical shadowing internship and the intense yet impactful language immersion. The scholarships I received relieved so much financial pressure and made this immersive, incredible experience possible.”

And for Gabriel Brogi, an internship with a leading figure in the Tango industry ultimately led to a prestigious UNESCO Culture Sector position. "Without that experience in Argentina, I wouldn’t have found my career direction or even applied for the position," Gabriel explains.
